Is this safe? The honest answer

What we claim

  • End-to-end encrypted: your data goes straight from one browser tab to the other.
  • No server relays or stores it. Both tabs must be open at the same time, and nothing persists afterwards.
  • No third-party code. Tested and fuzzed.
  • Good for sharing sensitive text or files with someone you trust, and better than sending sensitive things over chat, email or text messages.

What we do not claim

  • It is not independently audited. We make no “unbreakable” or “guaranteed secure” promises.
  • It cannot protect a device that already has malware.
  • You still trust whoever serves this page: modified code could be served. Compare the build hash in the footer with an independent source if that matters to you.
  • Public STUN servers (optional) see IP addresses, never your data.
  • It may not connect on strict networks (there is no relay).

Use it well

  • Send the link over a channel you trust, and do the verification-code check: it is the real defence against someone else grabbing the link.
  • Prefer sharing things you can replace or rotate afterwards.
